The City Charter describes the powers and duties of the City. It provides many of the procedures that we follow for the services that we provide to our citizens. Elections, budgets, and ordinances are examples of some of the topics covered in the Charter.
The Jonesville City Charter was approved by voters on August 5, 2014. The Charter was accepted by the Office of the Great Seal on August 14, 2014. Receipt of the Charter completed the process of incorporating from a General Law Village to a Home Rule City.
